Identify the format and application
Roll goods and finished items need different purchasing information. Start with the intended use and format so the relevant supply option can be assessed.
- Roll goods: width, basis weight, material and required quantity
- Finished items: dimensions, construction, material and order quantity
- For either format: colour, printing or processing requirements
- Required performance, test documents and destination
Confirm the supply scope
The proposed material and processing method are reviewed against the current supply scope. Availability, sample arrangements and minimum order quantity are confirmed with the quotation.
Prepare for a comparable quotation
A reference sample, drawing or specification can help explain the requirement. Include the quantity, packing preference, destination and timeline to define the quotation basis.
